Sunday, December 23rd 7:10 a.m.

Welcome to the second day of winter. And if winter is as snowy as the fall that just ended (99” season to date and over 6 feet so far this month,) we're in for one heck of a season.

Terrain: WE ARE 100% OPEN!!! With the addition of Mt. Ellen on Friday, every single trail at Sugarbush is open and you’ll find something for all abilities and desires. We’ve got 111 trails stretching over 53 miles. Patrol’s Picks for today are Tumbler at Mt. Ellen and Ripcord at Lincoln Peak. Groomers hit 45 trails overnight, and base depths are 16-42”. Terrain parks are setup at Lincoln Peak on Spring Fling and Slowpoke.

Lifts: 14 are scheduled to spin today with Super Bravo and the Green Mountain Express opening at 8 a.m. and all other chairs at 9 a.m. Upper-mountain lifts close at 3:45 and lower-mountain lifts close at 4 p.m.

The best December skiing ever at Sugarbush. 100% open with great cover even on the natural snow trails. Skied Paradise today and had a difficult time finding a rock. Castlerock has also been super. Just can't believe how great Mother Nature has been to Sugarbush. Guess she is making up for the last couple Decembers. Oh by the way, it is snowing again.

Sunday, December 16th 9:20 a.m.

It has started! The first Nor'easter of the season has arrived and we've already pick-up five inches of new snow and it is COMING DOWN! By the time this storm leaves the Valley sometime tomorrow, we could have close to 24 INCHES of fluff. So if you're looking for some advice, I'd say grab a bed close to the hill, tell the Boss you've come down with, "that bug that's been making its way around the office," and get ready for the first (of many) Nor'easters of the season!!

Mad River Glen

Today Dec 14, 2007 at 11:00:00

Lets see now, 2-4 today, 2-4" overnight, 1-2" yesterday, a good 3-5" Tuesday night into Wednesday afternoon, a couple feet the week before and a bunch more on tap for Sunday (possibly measured in feet!). Man O' Man what a start to the ski season! Our base is amazingly deep for December and the skiing is absolutely phenomenal and getting better with every flake. This sets us up perfectly for the significant snowfall predicted for Sunday.

Friday, December 14th 9:05 a.m.

Today is looking like another powder day! Since yesterday afternoon we've recieved 6" of new snow at the summit and 4" here at the base. It’s still snowing a little – forecasts for today are calling for flurries to continue with a base high around 29 degrees and 17 up top.

So, for new snow - in the last 12 days we’ve received over 3 ½ feet of the white stuff. Factor in the Nor’easter heading in for Saturday night and we’re in for a real treat.

Terrain: Lincoln Peak is 100% open.

Today you’ll find 72 open trails stretching across over 36 miles. Surface conditions are powder and packed powder and Patrol’s Pick is Ripcord. Groomers hit 18 trails last night, and base depths are 14-38”.

Freestyle Terrain: Rails, a box and a bonk are setup at the base of Spring Fling. New terrain park on Slowpoke.

Welcome to Sugarbush!

There are many great restaurants here in the valley, from casual deli's and pubs to rustic country elegance. Many of them participate in the Vermont Fresh Network, working in partnership with local farms.

Start your morning off with an order of pancakes with local Maple Syrup or a NY Style Bagel with Smoked Salmon..

Check out the Spotted Cow, Easy Street Cafe, Timbers, Green Cup Cafe, Paradise Deli, Irasville Country Store, Three Mtn Cafe, Jay's...

Pick of the Week: Breakfast Burrito at the Warren Store!

Saturday, December 8th 2:00 p.m. - Looking to Sunday
What a day it’s turned out to be. We’ve had over two feet of new snow in the last week and it’s been squalling on and off today with an inch landing so far. It’s riding more like mid March than early December out there.

Terrain: Lincoln Peak is 100% open – from the summit to Castlerock to North Lynx and Gadd. Mt. Ellen passholders, don’t worry. Your passes are good at Lincoln Peak until Mt. Ellen opens for the season.

Sunday you'll find 72 open trails stretching across over 36 miles with something for all abilities. Patrols' Pick is Morning Star on North Lynx. Tonight goomers will hit 21 and the base depth out there is 14-38”. Surface conditions are packed powder and machine groomed packed powder.
